Adore Delano’s Early Life and Career
Adore Delano, known for his outgoing personality and Mexican-American background, showed his gregarious nature from a young age. He even formed a punk rock band called ‘Teenage Rampage’ while still in secondary school.
In 2008, Adore Delano got his big break when he qualified for the 7th season of ‘American Idol’. However, his unkempt appearance led to his rejection by the panel in 2007. Despite this setback, he finished in the top sixteen and made it to the semi-finals with his rendition of ‘Tainted Love’. Although he was ultimately eliminated, his time on ‘American Idol’ jump-started his professional career.

Adore Delano’s career as a drag queen took off after witnessing the performance of Raven, a notable contestant on RuPaul’s Drag Race, in a West Hollywood nightclub. Inspired by this, Adore decided to compete in a drag queen competition endorsed by the club. He emerged as the winner, which led to numerous musical performances and concerts in California. He also worked as a model in Los Angeles Fashion Week in 2013.
In December 2013, Adore Delano was selected as one of the 14 contenders for the 6th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. He made it to the final showdown and was declared a joint runner-up with Courtney Act. This further boosted his career as an avant-garde and futuristic drag queen.
