Alex Martin began her career in the film industry with an uncredited role as a little girl in the movie “The Color Purple” in 1985. Her mother, Whoopi Goldberg, starred in the film and gained recognition for her performance. Alex continued to act in films such as “Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit” and “Quest of the Delta Knights” in 1993. In 1994, she was selected as “Miss Golden Globe” and assisted in the annual Golden Globe Awards presentations. She also appeared in other films like “American Intellectuals,” “Call Me Claus,” and “Strange As Angels.” Alex later turned to producing and worked on the animated short film “Descendants” in 2008.
