Childhood & Early Life
Acosta was born on February 28, 1983, in Havana, Cuba, to Cuban-American parents. She has a younger brother, Jason Acosta. Her family relocated from Cuba to Queens, New York.
Acosta attended the ‘Julliard School’ and has studied Meisner and method acting. She also acquired training in dance and stage performance.
Career
After her school education, Acosta began auditioning for roles, and began her career with commercials and print ads, in New York City. She made her film debut in 2008 playing a minor role of a ‘hot bartender’ in the film ‘The Next Hit.’
Acosta got her break in 2010, when Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman cast her in the lead role of ‘Kelly Acevedo’ in their independent film, ‘We Made This Movie.’ The film released in 2012, and Acosta received good reviews for her work.
She has portrayed ‘Cyn’ in ‘Freelancer’ (2012), a ‘FBI Agent Sarah Ramsey’ in ‘By the Gun’ (2014), and ‘Lori’ in ‘Construction’ (2012). She also appeared as ‘Abby’ in ‘Fat Camp’ (2017).
Acosta has worked in several television series.
