Early Life & Career
Angela Vazquez was born on January 17, 2001, in Mexico. She grew up in Mexicali, Baja California, in a family that had a deep love for music. Both of her brothers were talented singers and were on their way to becoming professional musicians. Angela also had a natural gift for singing and was drawn to a career in music.
At a young age, Angela began accompanying her brothers for live shows and studio recordings. In the early stages of her career, she performed with well-known bands like ‘Reik’, ‘Nikki Clan’, and ‘Camila’. However, it was her cover version of Adele’s song, ‘Rolling in the Deep’, that brought her into the spotlight. Angela released the cover on YouTube in 2011, and it quickly gained over 200 million views. The track was certified as a ‘Platinum Record’ by AMPROFON after reaching the top of the Mexican Top 100 Chart.
The success of her cover song encouraged Angela to release more cover and unplugged versions of English and Spanish songs. She gained further popularity when her songs started airing on Spanish and Mexican TV channels, and eventually on American television. Her unplugged versions were well-received by audiences, and Angela became an international star.
In September 2014, Angela’s band released their first studio album, ‘V-Sounds’, which featured original tracks sung by Angela and her brothers. The album became a chart-topper and was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2015 Latin Grammy Awards. The band followed up with their second album, ‘Invencible’, which also achieved great success. One of the tracks from the album, ‘Gracias a Ti’, dedicated to children with disabilities, garnered over a million views on YouTube. The band’s unplugged version of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ also achieved record-breaking success, reaching the second spot on the Mexican Billboard.
Angela also ventured into acting, appearing in episodes of popular Spanish television series like ‘Hospital Central’ and ‘Corta-t’. She also appeared in the television show ‘TelevisaTeleton’ alongside her brothers. The show gained popularity as it raised funds for underprivileged children and featured performances by Britney Spears and ‘V-Sounds’.
