Chase Gilroy, a passionate photographer and filmmaker, had always been fascinated by electronic gadgets. However, before venturing into the world of YouTube, Chase was working a conventional office job. Photography was merely a hobby for him, something he pursued in his spare time. But everything changed when he discovered YouTube and was further influenced by his brother-in-law, the well-known YouTuber Roman Atwood. Chase was instantly drawn to the concept of filming funny videos and posting them on YouTube, not just for the fame but also for the potential financial rewards.

Learning from Roman Atwood

Inspired by the content Roman posted on his self-titled YouTube channel, which now boasts over 10 million subscribers, Chase seized the opportunity to work with him as a camera person. Without hesitation, Chase accepted the offer and began filming prank videos for Roman’s channel. Working alongside Roman, Chase learned a great deal and even started appearing in Roman’s videos.

Creating His Own YouTube Channel

With a newfound passion for YouTube and a desire to make money through pranks, Chase created his own YouTube channel in early 2014, naming it ‘Gilroy Vlogs.’ However, Chase didn’t limit his channel to just prank videos. He diversified his content, including daily vlogs, travel diaries, Christmas vlogs, DIYs, challenge videos, story time videos, and more. This variety of content attracted a large audience and contributed to his growing viewership. Eventually, Chase made the decision to leave his full-time job and focus solely on YouTube. He now regularly posts videos on his channel.

Expanding His YouTube Presence

Chase didn’t stop at just one YouTube channel. He went on to create another channel called ‘Gilroy Reviews and How To’s,’ dedicated to reviewing and demonstrating newly launched gadgets. Although this channel is still gaining traction, Chase continues to keep his fans updated on the latest gadgets.

Engaging with Fans on Twitch

In addition to YouTube, Chase is active on the live video community platform called Twitch. He often conducts live question and answer sessions and even uses Twitch for virtual meet and greets with his fans.

Collaborations and Contributions

Chase’s collaboration with Roman Atwood extended beyond being his camera man. They worked together on Roman’s directorial debut, ‘Natural Born Pranksters,’ and Chase also served as the chief of the camera and electrical department for the television series, ‘Roman Atwood’s Day Dreams,’ shooting four episodes for the show. Another influential figure in Chase’s YouTube journey is his best friend, Dennis Roady, who helped him in his early days by assisting with filming and appearing in many of Chase’s prank videos.
