Childhood & Early Life

Choi Tae-joon was born on July 7, 1991, in Seoul, South Korea. Not much is known about his early education and family. However, he revealed his personal struggles as a child actor while co-hosting the variety show ‘Hello Counselor’. He mentioned that he didn’t want to act, but his mother would give him rewards and make him act. By the time he became a middle school student, he no longer enjoyed acting. He also shared that he would get stressed and even fight with people who recognized him as the character he played on a television show.

Choi Tae-joon attended Chung-Ang University, where he studied Theater.

Career

Choi Tae-joon made his debut as a child artist in the South Korean TV series ‘Piano’ at the age of ten. He then went on to play roles in various television series and films, including ‘Magic Kid Masuri’ and ‘Project X’. After a seven-year break from acting, he returned to the entertainment industry as a young adult.

His second innings in the field started with the South Korean romance fantasy TV series ‘Padam Padam… The Sound of His and Her Heartbeats’, where he played the role of Im Jung. He also appeared in the South Korean sports drama film ‘Pacemaker’ and two SBS TV series, ‘The Great Seer’ and ‘The King of Dramas’.

Choi Tae-joon continued to make a name for himself in the industry with various projects. He appeared in a music video for the song ‘Bye Bye Happy Days!’ by the South Korean pop girl group ‘Kara’. He also landed his first starring role in the South Korean daily drama ‘Ugly Alert’ and played the lead role in the teen miniseries ‘Adolescence Medley’.

One of his most notable performances was in the South Korean daily TV romance family drama ‘Mother’s Garden’, where he played the role of Cha Ki-joon. He received the Best New Actor award at the MBC Drama Awards for his performance in the series.
