In 1993, she recorded and performed in the Reggae Sunsplash concert. She also made a cameo appearance in the movie ‘Kla$h’. Breakspeare has been involved in other film projects, including ‘Marley’ and ‘Popcorn’. Currently, she pursues a career as both a recording artist and entrepreneur, having founded Ital Craft, a Rastafarian Craft store in Kingston.

Cindy Breakspeare was born as Cythia Jean Cameron Breakspeare on October 24, 1954, in Toronto, Canada. Her father, Louis Breakspeare, was Jamaican with British-Jamaican ancestry, and her mother, Marguerite Cochrane, had Canadian-British roots. She has three brothers and a sister.
When Breakspeare was four years old, her family moved to Jamaica, where she attended Immaculate Conception Preparatory School. It was during her teenage years that Breakspeare became interested in modeling. She participated in various prestigious beauty pageants and shows, and her career took off from there.
On the romantic front, Breakspeare gained attention for her relationship with legendary reggae musician Bob Marley, which resulted in the birth of their son, Damian Marley, in 1978. In 1981, Breakspeare married senator and attorney Tom Tavares-Finson, and they welcomed their son Christian the following year. In 1986, they had a daughter named Leah. However, the marriage ended in 1995.
Breakspeare later married her current husband, musician Rupert Bent II. She has three children and four grandsons.
