Rise to Fame

Cody Jones’s rise to fame began when he met his future partners, Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, and Tyler Toney while studying at Texas A&M University. He first met the Cotton twins while they were playing basketball at the university’s recreation center. They invited him to stay in a house they shared with Hilbert and Toney.

After graduating, Jones briefly worked in real estate. On March 16, 2009, the five friends set up their YouTube channel. Their first video, titled “Backyard Edition,” featured them performing progressively more complex basketball shots in their backyard over a bet on sandwiches. The video gained over 200,000 views within one week, and they realized they had something special. They began uploading content regularly and soon started receiving professional endorsement offers and collaboration requests.

They collaborated with various celebrities and athletes, including Tyreke Evans, Paul Rudd, Tim McGraw, Pete Carroll, Russell Wilson, Ryan Swope, Morgan Beck, Johnny Manziel, and the US Olympics team. Their official mascot is a panda.

Cody Jones was born on October 9, 1987, in Plano, Texas, US, into a religious family. They attended church every Sunday. In high school, he played basketball and was part of the school’s championship-winning basketball team. However, he later “strayed away from the Lord” and became more focused on basketball and girls. He enrolled at Texas A&M University to study finance and real estate but rediscovered his religion three months later.

Jones is also a fan of golf and has been seen playing the sport in one of their videos titled “All Sports Golf Battle 2 | Dude Perfect.”

After completing his education, Jones married his long-time girlfriend Allison. They have three children together: Landry, born in 2016, Lucy, born in 2018, and Easton, born in December 2020.
