Daddy Yankee, born as Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez on February 3, 1977, in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico, grew up in a musical family. His father was a salsa percussionist, and his mother came from a family of musicians. Daddy Yankee and his brother, Nomar, were exposed to music from a young age, as their father would often perform in front of them. At the age of 13, Daddy Yankee started singing and rapping, with a special focus on lyrical improvisation.
