Dafne Keen was born on January 4, 2005, in Madrid, Spain. Her parents are British actor Will Keen and Spanish actor María Fernández Ache. She does not have any siblings. Keen is also related to Edward Curzon, 6th Earl Howe, poet Alice Oswald, and author Laura Beatty. She is the second cousin, once removed, of English actor Jake Weber. Keen has a diverse heritage, with English, Scottish, Irish, and remote French roots on her father’s side, and Spanish descent on her mother’s side. She was homeschooled by her parents and is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Career

Dafne Keen began her acting career in 2014, appearing alongside her father in the TV series “The Refugees.” She played the role of Ana “Ani” Cruz Oliver in the series for seven episodes. In 2017, she made her film debut as the fictional superhero Laura Kinney/X-23 in “Logan,” the final film of the Wolverine trilogy. Her performance earned her several awards and nominations, including the Empire Award for Best Female Newcomer and the MTV Movie Award for Best Duo.

In 2019, Keen appeared in the fantasy drama series “His Dark Materials” as the lead character, Lyra Belacqua.
