David Arquette was born on September 8, 1971, in Bentonville, Virginia, USA, to Lewis Arquette and Brenda Olivia “Mardi” (née Nowak). He is the youngest of five children in his family. His family has a strong association with show business, with his paternal grandfather Cliff Arquette being a comedian. His father was a film actor, writer, and producer, while his mother was an actress, acting teacher, poet, psychotherapist, theatre operator, and activist. David’s father converted to Islam from Catholicism and had occasional issues with substance abuse, which led to an unusual upbringing for David and his siblings. His four elder siblings, Rosanna, Patricia, Alexis, and Richmond, all grew up to become actors. Unfortunately, his mother passed away from breast cancer.
