After graduating from Oberlin College in 2006, Drew Grant began her career in 2007 as a pop culture editorial assistant at 236.com, a sister site of Huffington Post. She then worked as an editor at Jossip Initiatives for ten months from August 2008 to May 2009. In April 2009, she started blogging at Nerve, a digital communications company focused on strategy, creativity, and technology. At the same time, she joined Crushable.com as a staff writer. Crushable later changed its name to Alloy and became an online magazine for women. Grant worked at Crushable/Alloy for nearly two years until February 2011.

In February 2011, Grant joined Salon Media Group as a pop culture writer. She worked at Salon for seven months before joining the New York Observer as a staff writer in September of the same year. At the New York Observer, Grant worked for five years and ten months, eventually becoming the arts and entertainment editor. She also established Observer’s television vertical, tvDownload.

After leaving the New York Observer, Grant moved to Los Angeles and worked for RealClear Media Group for about six months from November 2017 to April 2018. Since May 2018, she has been employed at Ranker as a writer and listmaker. Personal Life

Drew Grant was born in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York City. She grew up in Delaware and attended Oberlin College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature in 2006.

In 2010, Grant met fellow journalist Ari Melber, and they dated for three years before getting married in 2014. However, they eventually divorced in 2017 without having any children together.

Currently, Drew Grant is in a relationship with Richard Alexander, and they reside in Los Angeles, California.
