Elisha Ann Cuthbert was born on November 30, 1982, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Kevin and Patricia Cuthbert. Her father was an automotive design engineer, and her mother was a housewife. She grew up in Greenfield Park, Quebec, with her younger siblings, Jonathan and Lee-Ann. Growing up in Quebec, she became fluent in French. She was a member of Girl Guides of Canada and graduated from Centennial Regional High School in 2000. At the age of 17, she moved to Los Angeles, California, with the goal of starting a career in acting.
Career
Elisha Cuthbert began her career in modeling at the age of nine, working for children’s clothing and footwear brands. In 1996, she made her television debut as an extra on the Canadian horror anthology series “Are You Afraid of the Dark?” She later landed a recurring role on the show. She also co-hosted episodes of the educational series “Popular Mechanics for Kids” and caught the attention of then-US First Lady Hillary Clinton.
After working in the Canadian film industry, Cuthbert gained recognition for her role as Kim Bauer on the TV series “24.” This role established her as a sex symbol and led to numerous magazine covers.
