Music Career

Ellington Ratliff joined the band R5 after meeting its band members in a dance class. The bandmates found him extremely talented and requested him to join their band. The band started enjoying more success after Ratliff joined them. Owing to his amazing drumming skills, he took the band’s popularity to an entirely new level.

The band’s debut album ‘Louder’ reached #24 on the Billboard 200. They also released several EPs which went on to be moderate hits. These include ‘New Addictions EP’, ‘Sometime Last Night’, and ‘Heart Made up on You.’ They released their second and final album ‘Sometime Last Night’ in July 2015. The album opened to a positive reception and debuted at number 6 on the US Billboard 200. It went on to sell 31k copies in its first week. In early 2018, R5 disbanded after releasing a Youtube video titled ‘The Last Show.’

Acting Career

Ellington Ratliff made his acting debut in 2001 as Robbie Crenshaw in the movie ‘All You Need’. He then appeared in season 5 of the reality dance competition ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ in 2009. The same year, he played Allan in an episode of ‘Eastwick’. Soon after this, the actor bagged roles in the TV programs, ‘Victorious’ and ‘Raising Hope’.

In 2012, Ratliff portrayed the role of a photographer in the flick ‘My Uncle Rafael’. The following year, he played Huey Miller in the series ‘Red Scare’. After this, he appeared as himself in an episode of the 3rd season of ‘Violetta.’ The actor appeared in episode #22 on season 12 of ‘Criminal Minds’ where he played Ronnie Hawks.
