Career

Gus Trikonis began his career as an actor, making his first appearance in the successful 1961 film ‘West Side Story’ as Indio. He then went on to dance with Grover Dale and Debbie Reynolds in the 1964 movie ‘The Unsinkable Molly Brown’. In 1966, Trikonis made his directorial debut with the film ‘Five the Hard Way / The Sidehackers’. He continued to direct films such as ‘Supercock’ and ‘The Swinging Barmaids’ in 1975. In 1976, he directed the films ‘Nashville Girl’ and ‘The Student Body’. This was followed by ‘Moonshine County Express’ in 1977 and ‘The Evil’ in 1978. Trikonis then directed the film ‘She’s Dressed to Kill’ before making ‘Elvis and the Beauty Queen’ and ‘Take This Job and Shove It’ in 1981. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, he focused mainly on directing TV dramas, including episodes of popular series such as ‘Hercules: The Legendary Journeys’, ‘Baywatch’, ‘Quantum Leap’, ‘Burke’s Law’, ‘Wiseguy’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Baywatch Nights’, ‘The Flash’, ‘The Twilight Zone’, ‘Jack and Mike’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘The Commish’, ‘New York Undercover’, and ‘The Sentinel’.

Gus Trikonis, born as Kostas Tritchonis on November 21, 1937, in Manhattan, New York, USA, has a younger sister named Gina who is also an actress. He attended City College in New York City for approximately two years. Trikonis was married to actress Goldie Hawn from 1969 to 1976, and through this marriage, he became the son-in-law of Laura and Rut Hawn, as well as the brother-in-law of Patti Hawn. After his divorce, he married Barbara Andrews, with whom he had one son named Nicholas Trikonis. Barbara passed away in 2012, leaving Trikonis a widower.
