Jadyn Wong’s career in acting began while she was studying commerce at the University of Calgary. She signed up for a local talent agency and would often sneak into auditions for the theatre department. Although she was disqualified from getting a role because she was not a theatre major, she was able to pass the first round on several occasions and even had the opportunity to talk to directors. One director encouraged her to pursue what she loved to do. Within six months, she landed a role in the Emmy-winning miniseries ‘Broken Trail’ in 2006. She originally auditioned for the role in Cantonese but had to learn and speak Mandarin for the part. This experience allowed her to share screen space with veteran actor Robert Duvall and ultimately led her to defer her college studies.
For almost a decade, Jadyn Wong only managed to gain a few guest appearances, including two episodes of ‘Caprica’ and a recurring role on six episodes of the Canadian drama series ‘Being Erica’. During this time, she made her film debut with a small role in ‘Space Buddies’ in 2009 and appeared in several American, Canadian, and Mexican films. However, her big break came in 2014 when she landed the role of Happy Quinn, one of the main cast members on the American action drama series ‘Scorpion’. This show is loosely based on the life of computer expert Walter O’Brien, and even Jadyn Wong’s character is based on a real genius, although the show took creative liberty by introducing her character in his place.

Jadyn Wong, born as Kristianna Jesse Wong on May 11, 1985, in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, comes from a family that migrated from Hong Kong and set up a restaurant. At the age of 12, she enrolled in a drama class in junior high school to overcome shyness. She also trained in karate as a hobby and earned a black belt. Additionally, she trained as a classical pianist. After landing a role in ‘Broken Trail’, she dropped out of her commerce course at the University of Calgary and later graduated with a degree in Commerce from the University of British Columbia. Although she currently plays a character in the action drama ‘Scorpion’, her expertise in karate has not been utilized in stunts. She enjoys meeting her fans at Comic Con but does not consider herself a sci-fi fan as she has not seen any of the ‘Star Trek’ or ‘Star Wars’ movies. She currently travels between Toronto and Los Angeles to fulfill her acting commitments.
