Rise to Fame
At the age of fourteen, Jennie Kim was signed by ‘YG Entertainment’ in South Korea. However, she did not start her singing career immediately after signing the contract and underwent training for 6 years. Not only did she work on her vocals but also developed her skills in rapping.
‘YG Entertainment’ had been developing the band ‘Black Pink’ for some years and started advertising their debut in 2012. The final members of the band were revealed on June 29, 2016. Band members Jennie, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa finally made their debut on August 8, 2016. There was no stopping them as they continued to hog the limelight. Jennie Kim was born on January 16, 1996, in Seoul Capital Area, South Korea. She moved to New Zealand to pursue higher education at ‘ACG Parnell College.’ Upon graduating, she moved to South Korea and was signed by ‘YG Entertainment.’ Her father is the owner of a hospital and her mother is associated with the media company, ‘CJ E&M.’ Media reports have linked Jennie Kim and Big Bang rapper G Dragon romantically. However, reports also suggest that in May 2022, they parted ways.
