Justin’s mother worked as a waitress at a Beverly Hills private club called ‘The Daisy’, where his parents first met in 1977. His parents got married in 1985, and his elder sister Sydney Brooke Simpson was born later that year. Justin also had three step-siblings from his father’s previous marriage. Tragically, his younger step-sibling died in a drowning accident in 1979.
Troubled Childhood
Being born to a celebrity father, Justin Ryan Simpson has been in the media spotlight since birth. However, his childhood took a tragic turn when his mother, Nicole Brown, was murdered in 1994. At the time, Justin was only five years old and his sister Sydney was eight. Their grandparents shielded them from the news of their mother’s death and the subsequent trial of their father. However, the custody battle between their father and maternal grandparents brought them into the media’s attention. During their father’s trial, Justin and his sister lived with their maternal grandparents. Justin graduated from Florida State University in 2010.
Quiet Life and Successful Careers
Despite growing up in the public eye, Justin has managed to lead a quiet life with limited appearances in front of the media. He and his sister have chosen to stay away from showbiz and have built successful careers as realtors. Their decision has been praised by many.
Mother’s Death & Aftermath
Justin Ryan Simpson’s parents had a troubled married life, with frequent accusations of domestic violence against his father by his mother. They divorced in 1992 but got back together, despite the violence continuing. In October 1993, his mother called 911 out of fear for her life, leading to another separation. On June 13, 1994, Justin’s mother and her friend Ron Goldman were found stabbed to death. His father was charged with both murders and went through a highly publicized trial. He was acquitted in October 1995 but was found liable for the wrongful deaths in a civil law suit. He was ordered to pay $33.5 million in punitive damages. Despite their grandparents’ attempts, Justin and his sister remained in their father’s custody after the trial.
