She made her amateur fighting debut on March 6, 2010, in Destiny MMA, where she won the bout against Lisa Ha with a second-round submission. Curran went on to win her next three matches before losing her final amateur bout against J.J. Aldrich on June 16, 2012. Her amateur record stood at four wins, one loss, and one no contest.

Curran’s professional career started with PXC, the first organization to offer her a contract. On March 8, 2013, she had her debut professional fight against Kaiyana Rain. Curran dominated the fight and was declared the winner by unanimous decision. She continued her winning streak in her next bout against Emi Tomimatsu on August 9, 2013. Curran’s final match for PXC was against Yoo Jin Jung on February 28, 2013, where she secured another victory.

Curran made her UFC debut on November 22, 2014, against Paige VanZant. The match was intense and went back and forth, but VanZant ultimately won via technical knockout in the third round. Curran and VanZant received the Fight of the Night accolade for their performances. She suffered another defeat in her next fight against Alex Chambers on May 10, 2015, who won via armbar.

Despite being a relative newcomer to the sport, Curran signed a contract with UFC after only three professional bouts. Her consecutive losses to VanZant and Chambers took a toll on her emotionally. In an attempt to secure a win, she fought Emily Kagan on December 10, 2015, and won the match with a second-round rear-naked choke.

However, Curran’s luck turned for the worse as she lost her next four matches. She was defeated by Felice Herrig on July 23, 2016, Jamie Moyle on December 3, 2016, at The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions Finale event, Aleksandra Albu on July 29, 2017, and Yan Xiaonan in her most recent outing. With a sub-.500 record, Curran is one of the few rare fighters still signed with UFC.
