In 1985, she got her big break in the romantic comedy teen flick ‘Mischief’ where she played the role of Marilyn McCauley. This led to more opportunities, and she was signed for another romantic comedy called ‘Secret Admirer’ where she played Deborah Ann Fimple. Throughout her career, she appeared in various films such as ‘SpaceCamp’ (1986), ‘Love at Stake’ (1987), ‘Amazon Women on the Moon’ (1987), ‘The Experts’ (1989), and ‘Cheyenne Warrior’ (1994). In 2000, she appeared in the film ‘Battlefield Earth’ alongside her husband John Travolta. She also made a notable appearance in the music video for Maroon 5’s ‘She Will Be Loved’ in 2004.

Kelly Preston was born on October 13, 1962, in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Her mother worked as an administrator of a mental health center, and her father worked in an agricultural firm. Unfortunately, her father passed away when she was just three years old. Her mother later married Peter Palzis, who adopted Kelly. During her childhood, she moved to Iraq and then to Australia with her family. She attended Pembroke School in Adelaide and later went to Punahou School. She then studied drama at the University of Southern California.

In 1985, Kelly Preston married actor Kevin Gage, but their marriage ended in divorce less than two years later. She then had a brief relationship with George Clooney. She was later engaged to Charlie Sheen for a short period. In 1991, she married John Travolta, whom she had met on the set of ‘The Experts.’ Together, they had three children: Jett, Ella Bleu, and Benjamin. Tragically, Jett Travolta passed away in 2009 from a seizure while the family was on vacation in the Bahamas. He had also suffered from Kawasaki disease and autism.

Kelly Preston was known for her advocacy of parents and children’s rights. She was also vocal about drug, education, and environmental issues. She enjoyed spending time with her family and children.

On July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston passed away at the age of 57 after battling breast cancer.
