Moneybagg Yo was born on September 22, 1991, in Memphis, Tennessee, United States. Unfortunately, there is limited information available about his family background, early life, and education. However, it is known that he attended a local high school.
Career
Moneybagg Yo began his music career by releasing his mixtape titled ‘From Da Block 2 Da Booth’ on April 16, 2012, through ‘Bread Gang Entertainment.’ He followed this up with another mixtape called ‘October 20th’ on October 6 of the same year.
In 2014, he released a collaborative mixtape with Slpy titled ‘La Familia’ on February 3, followed by two more mixtapes called ‘Relentless’ and ‘Federal’ the following year. He then released a revised version of the first ‘Federal’ mixtape, titled ‘Federal Reloaded,’ on January 20, 2016, featuring guest appearances from OG Boo Dirty and Young Dolph.
Moneybagg Yo continued to release mixtapes, including ‘ELO’ (Everybody Lives On) on June 7, 2016, featuring Yo Gotti and Quavo, and ‘All Gas No Brakes’ on July 26, 2016. He also signed with ‘Collective Music Group’ (CMG).
In collaboration with Yo Gotti, Moneybagg Yo released ‘2 Federal’ on October 31, 2016. The mixtape was produced by members of ‘808 Mafia’ and peaked at #97 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
One of his mixtapes in 2016 earned him a ‘Memphis Hip Hop Award for Mixtape of the Year.’
Heartless and Federal 3X
On February 14, 2017, Moneybagg Yo released his eleventh mixtape titled ‘Heartless,’ featuring Lil Durk and YFN Lucci. This mixtape debuted at #181 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
His next mixtape, ‘Federal 3X,’ was released on August 11, 2017, and marked his first commercial release with ‘Interscope’ under a distribution deal. ‘Federal 3X’ debuted and peaked at #5 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Fed Baby’s and 2 Heartless
On November 17, 2017, Moneybagg Yo released a collaborative mixtape with YoungBoy Never Broke Again titled ‘Fed Baby’s,’ which peaked at #21 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
He then released a compilation album titled ‘Moneybagg Yo Presents: NLess Ent x Bread Gang’ on January 1, 2018.
His thirteenth mixtape, ‘2 Heartless,’ was released on February 14, 2018, and peaked at #16 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The mixtape featured artists such as Yo Gotti, Quavo, Lil Baby, and BlocBoy JB. Moneybagg Yo also announced a headlining concert tour called the ‘2 Heartless Tour’ to promote the mixtape.

Moneybagg Yo has revealed in interviews that he has fathered seven children with four different women. He has also had some legal troubles, including an arrest in 2016 for weapon and drug possession and being involved in a shooting in 2017.
