Childhood & Early Life

Monica Samille Lewinsky was born on 23 July 1973, in San Francisco, California, USA, to Bernard Lewinsky, an affluent and established photographer and doctor, and Marcia Kaye Vilensky. She attended the ‘Sinai Akiba Academy’ in Los Angeles, a religious academy that taught Judaism. Her family regularly attended the ‘Sinai Temple,’ a conservative Judaist temple located in Los Angeles, California.

She received primary education at ‘John Thomas Dye School’ in Bel-Air and later attended her senior year at ‘Beverly Hills High School.’ In 1991, she graduated from ‘Pacific Hills School’ after which she attended ‘Santa Monica Community College.’ In 1995, she graduated with a degree in psychology from ‘Lewis & Clark College’ in Portland, Oregon.

Career

On July 1995, she moved to Washington D.C., where she landed the role of an unpaid summer intern at the ‘White House Office.’ Here, she worked under the White House Chief of Staff, Leon Panetta. On December 1995, she was offered a paid position at the ‘White House Office,’ and she gladly accepted the offer. On April 1996, she was transferred to ‘The Pentagon,’ the headquarters of the ‘United States Department of Defence,’ located in Arlington County, Virginia.
