Career

Nathan Fillion began his career in theatre, film, and television productions. He appeared in the soap opera ‘Die-Nasty’ before moving to New York in 1994. In New York, he landed the role of Joey Buchanan in the program ‘One Life to Live’. He went on to star in ‘Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza Place’ and the war film ‘Saving Private Ryan’. In 2001, he lent his voice to a character in ‘King of the Hill’. The following year, he gained international popularity for his role as Captain Malcolm Reynolds in the sci-fi TV series ‘Firefly’. He has an elder brother named Jeff who serves as a principal at St. Richards Edmonton Catholic School. Fillion is of mixed English, French-Canadian, German, Finnish, Swedish, and Norwegian descent.

He grew up in Mill Woods and attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School and Concordia University College of Alberta. He later enrolled at the University of Alberta and became a part of its Kappa Alpha Society. Fillion became an American citizen in 1997.

In terms of his love life, Fillion has dated several women, including Stana Katic, Kate Luyben, and Krista Allen. He is currently rumored to be dating actress Mikaela Hoover. Fillion is also good friends with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
