Neile Adams, born as Ruby Neilam Salvador Adams on July 10, 1932, in the Philippines, is the daughter of Carmen Salvador and José Arrista. Her mother worked as a hula dancer. She attended Rosemary Hall, a school in Connecticut, and later studied dance and acting in New York’s theater district.

Adams married actor Steve McQueen in 1956, and they had two children together: daughter Terry Leslie McQueen and son Chad McQueen. However, the marriage ended in divorce in 1972 due to physical abuse from McQueen. Adams later revealed that she had an extramarital affair with Austrian actor Maximilian Schell, which led to McQueen’s violent behavior. After separating from McQueen, Adams married political campaign manager Alvin Toffel, and they remained together until Toffel’s death in 2005.

Adams is the grandmother of actor Steven R. McQueen and Molly McQueen Flattery. She is also the former mother-in-law of actress Stacey Toten and is related to Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias through her father’s side.
