Rise to Stardom

B. Artis White initially had no intention of making videos on TikTok, but he was inspired by his friends to give it a try. As a lifelong basketball fan, he started showcasing his skills on the platform and quickly gained a dedicated fan following. In addition to basketball videos, he also posted dance and lip-sync videos, as well as funny videos featuring his little brother. He occasionally shared pictures and videos on Instagram as well. B. Artis often collaborated with other popular internet personalities he met at social media or basketball events. He even inspired his friends Jonny Test and Owen to start making videos on TikTok.

Attempt at YouTube

B. Artis White joined YouTube on March 18, 2020, and posted his first video, “Q&A W/ JonnyTest & Owen,” on August 22 of the same year. However, he took nearly a year to upload his next video and seemed to shift his focus to posting reaction videos. He shared his reaction to the “2021 XXL Freshman Cypher,” featuring one of his favorite artists DDG, in a video uploaded on July 26, 2021. A few days later, on July 29, he made another video reacting to a video by fellow basketball player and social media star Cam Wilder titled “They Came To HOOP! First EVER Park Takeover in CHICAGO!” In this video, B. Artis explained that he was invited by Wilder to participate in the Chicago event but arrived 40 minutes late due to an address mix-up. He expressed his intention to take part in Wilder’s next and bigger park takeover event in New York later that year. Although he mentioned his plans to be more active on YouTube and promised to post a “day in the life” video soon, he has not uploaded anything on his channel since then. Despite this, he has managed to gather 16.7k subscribers on his eponymous channel.

Family & Personal Life

B. Artis White was born on October 16, 2000, in Canton, Michigan, United States. He has an older sister and a younger brother named Beniah. He often creates videos with his brother, and both his sister and father have made occasional appearances in his videos. B. Artis, who jokingly claimed to have started playing basketball as soon as he came out of the womb, was accepted into the Western Michigan University basketball team in 2019. His favorite artist is Canadian rapper Drake, whom he believes “can do no wrong.”

Relationships

B. Artis White dated fellow TikTok star Princess Cherry, also known as Cherry Hunt. He had a crush on her even before they started dating, and he openly shared this with his fans in a Q&A video. They first met in person during a TikTok event in Atlanta, Cherry’s hometown, and immediately clicked. Their fans shipped them as “Berry.” Contrary to allegations that their relationship was solely for social media clout, they stated that they were genuinely serious about each other and even lived together like a married couple.

However, their long-distance relationship began to take a toll on B. Artis’ basketball aspirations as he struggled to balance sports, education, and the relationship. Unfortunately, he did not openly express the stress he was under, and their relationship started to deteriorate. They stopped talking to each other until B. Artis later apologized to Cherry through a voicemail. He even drove to Atlanta to apologize to her family members. Eventually, they came together for a video on Cherry’s YouTube channel titled “LET’S TALK ABOUT IT…WHAT HAPPENED W B.ARTIS & CHERRY?” In the video, they explained to their fans what went wrong between them and dispelled any speculations. B. Artis publicly apologized for not being vocal about his feelings, while Cherry apologized for expressing her anger on the internet, which caused the issue to become public and blown out of proportion.
