Nicholas Perry, also known as Nikocado Avocado, is a well-known American YouTube star, food blogger, and social media personality. He gained fame through his immensely popular YouTube channel, where he shares mukbang videos. Although he created his channel in 2014, he didn’t start posting until 2016. Initially a vegan YouTuber, Nikocado transitioned to posting vegan mukbang content before ultimately abandoning veganism altogether. Despite facing criticism for his weight gain and controversial behavior, he has amassed over a million followers and hundreds of millions of views on his channel.

Rise to Fame

Nikocado Avocado has been appearing on his secondary channel for a longer period than his primary channel. The secondary channel, which is now known as ‘Nikocado Avocado 2,’ was created by Orlin Home on July 7, 2012, under the username OmaDesalasOrlin. His first video, ‘Best Mango Farm Florida’, was posted on May 4, 2013. Nikocado made his first appearance on the channel on August 7, 2017, in a video titled ‘Nikocado Plays Violin’. These days, the couple exclusively uses the channel to put out mukbang content and has garnered several hundred thousand subscribers and tens of millions of views in total on it.

Nikocado set up his main account on May 27, 2014, and started posting vegan food and lifestyle-related content on it in February 2016. However, he seems to have deleted all the videos he had posted prior to September 2016. The oldest video on the channel, ‘Why I’m No Longer a Vegan Youtuber’, was posted on 1 September. In it, he denounces the vegan community altogether, dubbing its members as “imbalanced, hostile, militant, and mentally unstable”. He also spoke about the vegan community on YouTube and stated that he did not want to be associated with them any longer.

He subsequently started uploading vegan mukbang videos. On December 31, 2016, he posted a video titled ‘I Don’t Want to be Vegan Anymore’, in which an emotional Nikocado once more spoke about his issues with the vegan community and veganism. In January 2017, he began putting out non-vegan mukbang videos. Since then, Nikocado has put on some weight due to binge-eating unhealthy food, something that has been the subject of several of his videos. However, it is the same eating habits which have inspired morbid fascination among his viewers and helped him grow his channel exponentially in the past few years. These days, he receives hundreds of thousands of views on each of his videos.

The oldest photograph on his Instagram handle was posted on December 20, 2016. It is a picture of his cat. Since then, he has accumulated over two hundred thousand followers on it. On Twitter, he has tens of thousands of followers.

Despite claiming that his channel is family friendly, Nikocado curses and swears in his videos on a regular basis. He has also spoken about drugs, sex, and politics. He has displayed offensive behaviour towards other cultures and religions and is also known for stereotyping and fetishising black and Asian people. He has been criticised for being overly emotional in his videos and sharing way too much information from his personal life.

Nikocado was born on May 19, 1992, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA. He grew up with a sister and a younger brother.

Nikocado is married to fellow mukbang content creator Orlin Home. They shot their wedding-day mukbang at Chick-Fil-A on April 10, 2017. The couple resided in Colombia, South America, Home’s native country, for three years before relocating to Florida, USA.

In April 2017, Nikocado appeared in a video titled ‘Why We Broke Up’ with Home and their pet parrot Mr Noodles. In it, he revealed that he had extramarital affairs with 12 different men during his world travel in 2016, and when he returned, he had chlamydia and passed it on to Home. They were already having relationship issues when Nikocado had left Colombia for his trip, deciding to take a break from each other. After Home found out what had happened, they broke up. Eventually, however, they got back together. Besides the parrot, Nikocado has a sloth named Kiwi. He also calls the members of his fanbase Little Sloths. His cat’s name is Miss Kitty.
