Childhood & Early Life
Paddy Considine was born on September 5, 1973 in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. He has five siblings. He studied at Abbot Beyne Senior School and then went on to attend Burton College. In 1994, he enrolled at the University of Brighton to study photography.
Career
Paddy Considine made his film debut with the 1999 comedy drama ‘A Room for Romeo Brass’. A year later, he starred as Alfie in ‘Last Resort’. In 2003, he played Johnny in Jim Sheridan’s ‘In America’, a drama flick focussing on an Irish family’s struggle as they move to New York City. That year, the actor also featured in Coldplay’s music video for “God Put a Smile upon Your Face” as well as Moloko’s “Familiar Feeling”. In the ensuing years, he had roles in the films ‘My Summer of Love’ and ‘Dead Man’s Shoes’, the latter of which he also wrote. Considine next appeared as Mike Wilson in the biographical sports drama movie ‘Cinderella Man,’ about the life of boxing champion James J. Braddock. In 2006, he did the films ‘Bosque de Sombras’ and ‘Pu-239’ and also featured in the TV film ‘My Zinc Bed’ as ‘Paul Peplow’. Over the next few years, the actor had roles in a number of film projects including ‘Hot Fuzz’, ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, ‘The Cry of the Owl’ and ‘Submarine’. He was cast in the ‘The Suspicions of Mr Whicher’ film series as Jack Whicher in the 2010s. Major Works
In 2007, Paddy Considine created the award-winning short movie ‘Dog Altogether.’ Starring Peter Mullan and partially based on Considine’s real-life father, the film won a Silver Lion at the 2007 Venice Film Festival along with a BAFTA trophy for Best Short Film. In 2011, ‘Dog Altogether’ was expanded into a feature movie titled ‘Tyrannosaur’ featuring the same actors in the lead roles. The movie garnered multiple honours at British Independent Film Awards along with accolades at various film festivals including Mar del Plata Film Festival and Munich Film Festival.

In 1991, Paddy Considine married Shelley Insley. They have a son named Joseph. In 2011, he was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. Two years later, he was diagnosed with Irlen syndrome. His condition has improved since he started wearing purple Irlen filters.
