Childhood & Early Life

Shah Rukh Khan was born on November 2, 1965, in New Delhi, India. His parents are Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima. He attended St. Columba’s School in Delhi and excelled academically. He was also talented in sports and received the prestigious “Sword of Honour” from the school.

Khan went on to study Economics at Hansraj College in Delhi, where he also received acting training from Barry John of the Theatre Action Group. After completing his bachelor’s degree in 1988, he joined Jamia Millia Islamia University for post-graduate studies in Mass Communication. However, he dropped out to pursue a career in acting. He also attended the National School of Drama in Delhi before launching his acting career.

Career

Khan got his first acting break in the television show “Dil Dariya” in 1988. He made his debut in the world of television with the series “Fauji” in 1989. He also appeared in other television series and telefilms during this time. In 1991, he traveled to Mumbai with the dream of joining the Indian film industry. He signed four films that year and started shooting for “Dil Aashna Hai,” directed by Hema Malini.

His film “Deewana” was released in 1992, marking the beginning of his Bollywood journey. He went on to play the protagonist in several films before venturing into the role of an anti-hero. In 1993, he played the anti-hero in the movies “Darr” and “Baazigar.” The following years saw the release of more successful films, including “Anjaam,” “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,” and “Karan Arjun.”

In 1995, Khan starred in the blockbuster film “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge,” which became one of the biggest hits in Indian cinema. He continued to act in successful films throughout the 2000s, including “Devdas,” “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” “Chak De! India,” and “Om Shanti Om.” He also established his production house, Red Chillies Entertainment, in 2004.
