Sophie Grace McCarthy, better known as Sophie Grace, was born on April 9, 2006, in the United States of America. She is from Philadelphia but is now based in Jacksonville and Los Angeles. She is of Irish descent.
She grew up as one of the six siblings in her close-knit family. She still lives with her three brothers and two sisters. Marissa Zaneski Grace is her stepsister.
Career
She began acting at age 3 and performed in school and local plays. At age 10, she started her professional training in acting.
After being trained in acting for 2 years, Sophie Grace attended her first audition, for a lead role in Lifetime’s Terror in the Woods. This was her debut acting project. The 2018-released TV movie was said to be inspired by a true story of two girls who had decided to offer their friend as a sacrifice to a fictitious internet legend. The incident was known as “The Slender Man Stabbings.” The movie featured Sophie as Kaitlyn, a 12-year-old girl from Georgia, alongside Ella West Jerrier as Rachel, her best friend.
Sophie then bagged a leading role in The Baby-Sitters Club, a Netflix series based on a series of children’s novels of the same name by Ann M. Martin, published between 1986 and 2000. The comedy-drama series was released on July 3, 2020.
The series features Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, the president of a babysitters’ club, who fights against social injustice. It tracks the lives of five middle-school children who establish their babysitting business in Stoneybrook, Connecticut. Sophie was cast in the series after beating thousands of candidates in a nationwide search.
Sophie has also appeared in short films such as Genesis (2018), Business as Ususal (as Hadley, 2018), and The Over-the-Hill Grand Prix (as Sophie Grace, 2018). She has also appeared on The Morning Show and Entertainment Tonight in 2020.

Sophie’s favorite Disney character is Mulan. She has plants at home and even names them. Almost everyone in her family is an athlete. Interestingly, Kristy, the role Sophie plays in The Baby-Sitters Club is also an athlete. Sophie dyed her hair darker for the role of Kristy.
One of her favorite actors is Jennifer Anniston. Sophie is an animal lover. Her family owns two dogs. She is fond of sketching and drawing. Her favorite candy is a cross between peanut M&Ms and Kit Kats. During the COVID-19 quarantine period, Sophie rode her bike so much that her neighbors thought she had been training for something.
In one of her interviews, Sophie recalled a funny incident. She said that in preschool, she had cut her hair on St Patrick’s Day and had told her mother that leprechauns had done it.
