Childhood & Early Life
Steven Spence was born on March 20, 1988, in Queens, New York City, United States of America. His family moved from Queens, New York City to Fort Lauderdale, Florida when he was still very young. He spent his childhood in Fort Lauderdale.
Steven was exposed to music at a very young age as his uncle, who played the keyboard, was associated with the popular reggae band, ‘The Wailers.’ Steven grew up playing the piano and guitar, and would often turn to his uncle for mentorship and inspiration.
Interestingly, Steven never attended music classes and is largely a self-taught musician. In 2001, he was presented with his first drum kit, which encouraged him to play drums during his free time. He was then enrolled at ‘Florida State University,’ from where he dropped out to focus on his music career.
Music Career
His popularity as a drummer increased when he was voted as the ‘up and coming artist’ in a poll conducted by a monthly publication called ‘Modern Drummer.’ In 2009, he took part in a competition at ‘The Vans Warped Tour’ and ended up winning the first place.
Steven became one of the most liked performers of ‘Black Tide’ as he would entertain the audience by playing drums and the keyboard simultaneously. After playing for a couple of songs from albums, such as ‘Post Mortem’ and ‘Light From Above,’ Steven left the band in order to focus on his solo career.
Thereafter, he became a DJ and music composer, earning the opportunity to work with bands like ‘Kalin and Myles’ and ‘The Mowgli’s.’ In 2014, he became part of the ‘Band Together Project,’ an initiative to end bullying. He collaborated with the likes of Clinton Sparks and Kylie Morgan in order to come up with an anthem for the initiative.

In 2016, Steven produced a music video titled ‘If it Feels Right.’ Apart from his music career, he is also currently focusing on his acting career.
