Thomas Henry Charles Parker Bowles was born on December 18, 1974, in Westminster, London, England. His parents are British Army officer Andrew Parker Bowles and Camilla Shand, who is now known as Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and is a member of the British royal family. Bowles’ parents divorced in 1995 and his father remarried. Charles, Prince of Wales, is Bowles’ godfather and stepfather. Bowles was raised as a Roman Catholic along with his sister Laura. He spent his childhood at Bolehyde Manor in Allington, Wiltshire, and later at Middlewick House in Corsham, Wiltshire. He attended various schools including Summer Fields prep school, Heywood Preparatory School, and Eton College. Bowles developed a passion for food writing inspired by his mother’s cooking skills and recipes. He continued his studies at Worcester College, Oxford, where he was a member of the Piers Gaveston Society.

Bowles began his career as a junior publicist at Dennis Davidson Associates from 1997 to 2000. In 2001, he became a food columnist for the British magazine ‘Tatler’.
