Childhood & Early Life

Tom Selleck was born to Martha Jagger and Robert Dean Selleck. His father was an executive and real estate investor, while his mother was a housewife. He has three siblings. Tom attended Grant High School and graduated in 1962. He was athletic and played several sports. He earned a basketball scholarship to the University of Southern California, where he majored in business administration. During this time, he also began modeling and was encouraged by his drama coach to pursue acting. He took up acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse under Milton Katselas.
