TommyInnit, whose real name is Thomas Simons, was born on April 9, 2004, in Nottinghamshire, England. Not much is known about his family or personal life.

Career as a Gamer on Social Media

TommyInnit started his gaming journey on YouTube when he was 12 years old. He initially named his channel ChannelNutpig but changed it to Tom when he turned 13 due to bullying from his schoolmates. He then set his videos to private.

A year later, Tommy began streaming on Twitch and started posting regularly on the platform by late 2018. He streamed games like Fortnite, PUBG, and Hypixel public parties, primarily Bed Wars.

TommyInnit launched his YouTube channel, TommyInnit, on December 24, 2015, but only started posting regularly in 2019. His first video, titled “Guide to Lobby Spamming,” was posted on September 9, 2018. Initially, the TommyInnit account was just an “alt” that he used to subscribe to ChannelNutpig.

By early 2019, Tommy became a Twitch affiliate, and most of his fan base at that time consisted of Hypixel influencers.

In August 2019, Tommy began posting Hypixel Skyblock clips on his channel, which transitioned his content from skits to edited livestreams. His subscriber count grew rapidly, reaching 66 thousand within 2 months. Currently, he has over 593 thousand subscribers.

After 3 months of Hypixel Skyblock uploads, TommyInnit started posting general Minecraft content. He was invited to join private SMPs like SMPEarth, Skeppy’s SMP, and AnothaSMP. He was also part of Blockworth season 2 until its end. Tommy is also a member of Dream Team SMP and L’Manburg, and he often turns his livestreams related to Dream Team SMP into YouTube videos.

Tommy has collaborated with other Minecraft YouTubers such as Technoblade and has participated in Minecraft championships as part of various teams. He also owns two other YouTube channels, TommyOutit and TommyVODS, which host stream highlights and archived livestreams, respectively.

Gaming Controversies

In 2018, Tommy used “lobby spamming” on his Twitch channel to gain more viewers. Lobby spamming involves going into a Hypixel lobby and posting a stream link and clickbait, often in the form of fake giveaways. Tommy and his friend Freddie used chat macros to assist them in lobby spamming.

Tommy asked a server staff if lobby spamming was allowed, and they said it was. However, he was later muted for 7 days and blacklisted after it was discovered that he used macros. Tommy appealed the ban, and a Hypixel admin approved it, allowing him to rejoin the platform but remaining muted.

In June 2019, Tommy was banned for 30 days for promoting cheats in a video, although he claimed it was satire. He faced another controversy in April 2020 when his video broke Hypixel’s YouTube ranking policy, leading to a campaign against him. However, Tommy clarified that the owner of Hypixel had approved the video, and he has since created numerous videos on hacking without being banned.

In December 2019, Tommy’s school discovered his YouTube gaming channel when one of his teachers played one of his videos in class. Prior to that, a schoolmate’s sister had already found out about his videos and would threaten to reveal his identity as a Minecraft YouTuber.

Tommy has posted interesting tweets about drugs and women on Twitter. He has also mentioned in one of his streams that he is cross-dominant and enjoys playing video games with his left hand while using his right hand for other sports.
