Despite being born and raised in Seqium, he now resides in Huntington Beach, California. Wesley comes from a family with strong ties to the entertainment industry. His grandfather, William R. Stromberg, was a filmmaker, while his father, William T. Stromberg, is a Grammy-nominated composer. His uncle, Robert Stromberg, is an Academy Award-winning art director. Wesley developed a passion for music at a young age and learned to play the guitar when he was six. He also plays several other musical instruments. Inspired by bands like ‘Good Charlotte’, ‘Blink 182’, and ‘Sum 41’, Wesley started writing his own songs and formed his first band called ‘Deferred Prosecution’ at the age of eleven. He also has a love for the music of Bob Marley and even has a canvas of him in his bedroom.

Career Beginning

At the age of thirteen, Wesley Stromberg and his friend Drew Chadwick formed a band called ‘The American Scholars’, with Wesley as the lead singer. Wesley’s younger brother Keaton joined the band when he was only nine years old. The trio started performing together and played their first concert in front of just five people. Despite the small audience, they were convinced that they should pursue music seriously. Two years later, Wesley moved to Huntington Beach, California, and his brother and friend eventually joined him. They recorded their first solo CD, ‘Bite Your Lip and Take It’, in their basement. They started performing in the local Sunset Strip area under the name ‘The American Scholars’ before settling on the name ‘Emblem3’.

‘The X Factor’

In 2012, ‘Emblem3’ auditioned for the second season of ‘The X Factor USA’ in San Francisco. They performed an original song called ‘Sunset Boulevard’ during the audition and were selected to go on to the live shows. Their first performance on the show was ‘One Day’ by Matisyahu. They were the first group to enter the top twelve of the competition. ‘Emblem3’ reached the semifinals and performed songs like ‘Just the Way You Are’ by Bruno Mars and ‘Forever Young’ by Alphaville. However, they were eventually eliminated from the show after performing ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’ by Peter Frampton and ‘Hey Jude’ by ‘The Beatles’.

Career After ‘The X Factor’

Despite finishing fourth on ‘The X Factor USA’, ‘Emblem3’ was signed by Simon Cowell’s record label Syco Records and Columbia Records in 2013. They released their first single, ‘Chloe (You’re the One I Want)’, on April 15, 2013. Their debut studio album, ‘Nothing to Lose’, was released on July 30, 2013, and included their debut single. They released their second single, ‘3000 miles’, on October 15, 2013. ‘Emblem3’ performed as the opening act for Selena Gomez on her ‘Stars Dance Tour’ in August 2013. However, the band was dropped by Simon Cowell’s record label in May 2014 after their debut album failed commercially. They independently released their first EP, ‘Songs from the Couch, Vol. I’, on June 2, 2014. Drew Chadwick left the band to pursue a solo career, and Wesley and his brother released an EP titled ‘Forever Together’ in October 2014. In June 2015, Wesley announced that the group was taking an indefinite hiatus. Wesley later joined a new rock band named ‘The BalCOny’ and released their first single, ‘Fire’. ‘Emblem3’ reunited in September 2015 and announced that they were working on a new album. They released the song ‘Now’ on YouTube in February 2016. The band has been inactive for some time now, with the members pursuing solo careers in music.
